We'll start by asking what the students think biomimicry is. Then we will give them the definition, a few examples, and show them the Ted Talks you gave us, though we may not show all of it since it's really long. We will show enough for them to get the notes they need, though, because we will hand out forms for them to take notes on before the video. We'll go deeper into biomimicry then by explaining the topics we worked on individually and then ask if there are any questions. Then there will be an interactive activity where we split the class into two groups. We will give them each a problem that has been solved with biomimicry but not the solution. We'll also give them some information about nature, facts that could be relevant in solving their problem but may not be. We'll give them a set amount of time to brainstorm a solution to the problem before they have to present to the class. After they present, the class will vote for which problem we want to 'solve', and we'll give them materials to build a model of their solution.
